Terms of Use
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Plain-English rules for using Stoke BBQ. By downloading or using the app, you agree to the following.
The app
Stoke BBQ is a cook-logging and pit-monitoring app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch, published by Stoke BBQ. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of the app.
Subscriptions
Stoke BBQ is free to download with a 7-day full-featured trial. After the trial, a subscription unlocks the premium layer. Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely by Apple through your App Store account — pricing is shown in the app before you buy, renewals and cancellations are handled in your App Store subscription settings, and refunds are handled by Apple under their policies.
The community and your content
Stoke BBQ includes an optional community where you can share recipes and cooks, comment, and message other users. You are responsible for everything you post, and you keep ownership of it. By posting, you grant Stoke BBQ a license to host, display, and distribute that content within the app.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to post, comment, or send content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, violent, spammy, unlawful, infringing, or otherwise objectionable, and not to abuse, harass, or impersonate other users. Our full Community Guidelines are part of these terms.
We may remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms or the Community Guidelines. We review reported content and act within 24 hours. Within the app you can report objectionable content and block abusive users at any time, and you can delete your account and all of its community data whenever you like.
Your private data, your responsibility
Your private cook logs are stored on your device and, if enabled, synced through your own iCloud. We can’t recover that data for you — keep your device/iCloud backups on if your cook history matters. You can export your cook log from the app at any time. Community content you post is stored on our backend and covered by our Privacy Policy.
Cooking is on you
Stoke BBQ is a logging and coaching tool, not a food-safety authority. Temperature readings depend on your probes and their services; the AI Cook Coach offers suggestions, not guarantees. Always verify doneness and food-safe temperatures yourself (e.g., USDA guidance). We are not liable for undercooked brisket, overcooked ribs, or disappointed in-laws.
Third-party services
Probe integrations (ThermoWorks, MEATER) connect to those companies’ services using credentials you provide. Their availability, accuracy, and terms are theirs, not ours. We may add or remove integrations over time.
Acceptable use
Don’t reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app, and don’t use it in any way that violates applicable law, these terms, the Community Guidelines, or Apple’s App Store terms.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted on this page with a new “last updated” date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
